Boy & Bear say they have had to make the hard decision to pull the plug on the large majority of shows they had planned in 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Taking to social media, the band said, “Covid-19 and the surrounding uncertainty and restrictions have created significant challenges in relation to our ability to deliver the tour we intended for 2020, even with indications of a return to large gatherings seeming more possible.”
They then outlined that, while the majority of dates have been cancelled, they “can still proceed with the shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, as we are confident that we can deliver those shows at a level that you deserve.”
This means that the shows in Margaret River, Cairns, Mackay, Airlie Beach, Townsville, Wodonga, Adelaide, Birtinya, Canberra, Wollongong and Kingscliff have unfortunately been cancelled. Those who had tickets to these shows have been instructed to expect an email from their point of purchase over the coming days, or they can contact them directly.
This isn’t the first change the 2020 ‘Suck On Light’ tour has had to make, after the tour was rescheduled from the original dates in March as COVID-19 began to spread.
Check out the full updated list of dates, as well as the band’s full statement, below.

Hi everyone, after lots of agonising, we’ve made the tough decision to cancel the majority of the shows on our November Suck On Light Tour, including Hobart in Dec. Covid-19 and the surrounding uncertainty and restrictions have created significant challenges in relation to our ability to deliver the tour we intended for 2020, even with indications of a return to large gatherings seeming more possible. We can still proceed with the shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, as we are confident that we can deliver those shows at a level that you deserve. Regional Australia has always been a very important part of our touring life, and has always been good to us, so we’re really sorry to the people who are in places we can’t get to this time. We want to say an extra-special thank you to everyone who held on to their ticket this long for shows that now won’t go ahead. We know money has been tight for many people, so it has been utterly heart-warming to see the amount of people who chose to hang onto their ticket to see us. We are beyond grateful for your support. If you are one of those lovely people who was coming to a now cancelled shows, please check your emails for advice from your ticketing agent today, or contact them direct for the refund of your ticket price. We recognise that to many people, these cancellations will be disappointing, as they are to us, but please know that we will be working hard towards a plan where we can get back out there and do what we love sooner rather than later. Thanks so much for sticking with us through this crazy time. Much love, from Dave, Killian, Symes, Tim and Jon.
