Here’s Shakira’s Karaoke Cover Of The Green Day Classic ‘Basket Case’

It looks like Shakira is currently in the studio, and the songwriter apparently has a bit of a fondness for pop-punk.
The ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ singer has posted a brief video on her social media in which she sings part of Green Day‘s Dookie classic ‘Basket Case’ while her producer plays along on an acoustic guitar.
“Me, being a basket case with my producer…” she writes in the video’s accompanying tweet. Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong gave his tick of approval, commenting “I Love this.”
The beloved Latin singer made news recently when it was announced she will perform at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show in February alongside Jennifer Lopez.
