Violent Soho Played A Surprise Support Set For DZ Deathrays In Brisbane
Written by A on 23 Σεπτεμβρίου 2018
DZ Deathrays wrapped up their colossal 10th anniversary national tour in Brisbane on Friday night, and punters were in for the surprise of a lifetime as two of Brisbane’s greatest bands collided.
While the Brisbane show was billed with ‘special guests’, no one could have predicted the opening act be a little, underground band called VIOLENT SOHO!!!
Yep, that’s right. Fellow Brisbanites and I Oh You! labelmates Violent Soho took to the stage behind a red curtain, and as the opening notes of ‘Covered In Chrome’ began, the crowd of The Tivoli absolutely erupted.
DZ Deathrays released a statement on Instagram following the gig, thanking Violent Soho for helping them out on this monumental hometown show.
“Best tour of our lives,” the statement reads. “Thank you Brisbane and thank you @pupthebandf or coming to Australia and ripping it every night!! Also thank you @violentsoho4122 for playing this show, it was the best night we could ever ask for. Cya soon!!!”
DZ Deathrays aren’t done playing Aussie shows for the year just yet, with a sets at Beyond The Valley and Hyperfest still to come later this year.
Check out videos of the surprise performance, and DZ Deathrays’ statement, below.
